My Lolita Dress + Infanta and lolita princess REVIEW

My Lolita dress is a well known Taobao reseller in the Lolita community. Iv bought from them a few times and they always left me satisfied, so I decided to write a detailed review on my last purchase with all the pros and cons.

Website
the website is well made and easy to understand how it works. It provides you with many customer reviews and  everything falls into categories so its easy to find what youre looking for. The order process is also quite simple.
When you click on a product it provides you with all the information you need. It shows the original or pre-order price, material, brand and the process time before shipping.
The sizes are different in each item and usually provided by the brand. Custom size is available in certain products which is quite useful in some cases.
The product prices are affordable and usually cheaper than most Taobao resellers

My only problem was that some parts are not updated. I ordered a blouse marked "on stock" but I got a message few days later telling me the colour and size were out of stock. When I rechecked the site they had update the  available options on the specific blouse,  but when I tried reordering a similar one I had the same problem. Eventually the shop owner was super hfjgehgfd and sudjested me some other options from which I chowsed the infanta blouse which ill be reviewing later.

Shipping
My JSK was shipped a lot faster than the process time suggested. Im pretty satisfied with the shipping and some problems that occurred were solved easily due to the great communication and positive attitude of the shop owner. I would suggest to future costumers, to create a mld account so you can watch the process of your order because they dont notify you when its shipped unlike most online shops. Last but not least the shipping is way too expensive which is a pity since the product prices are usually really cheap. I would buy more often if the shipping wasnt that much.

Communication
As Iv already mentioned the communication was extremely satisfying. When I couldnt find another blouse they helped me by giving me suggestions, quite close to the one I had choose before.
When some shipping problems ocurred I was only able to solve them because of how willing they were to help
They always answered fast withing 24 hours (except weekends ) even though there was a great time gap between the two countries. I think great communication and customer service is Mlds strongest point.

Item

Infanta blouse:  I bought the "Chiffon Lolita Mid-length Sleeves Blouse". Its the most comfortamble blouse I own so far. It does not have buttons so you wear it like a t-shirt. There is enough space for your skin to breath but at the same time the line is flattering to the body. Its not buggy so you can wear it within a Jsk easely. Both the bodice and the sleeve allow you to move freely. It doesent have too much lace except at the end of the sleeves which is perfect for a more mature look. The quility of the fabric and lace is satisfactory.

Lolita princess Vintage Dark Blue Stars & Moons Printed Lolita JSK:
A beutiful jsk, it vibrates a dark and magical feeling
Bying the jsk, you can only choose the custom size option and not a specific size like large, small, medium etc.

They managed to tailor my measurments on point so it fited me well and was quite comfortable, giving me space to breath and not having to safocate in order to do so.

The Jsk does not have a zip whch worried me at first but it was well made so there was no struggle wearing it. The waist line is defined by an elastic which is comfortable and can strech quite a lot. Compare to most Jsks the "Dark Blue Stars & Moons" jsk is simple, since it doesent have charming aspects like, back shirring, Partial shirring, or Corset lacing. But the fact that its so simple, makes it easy to wear
The skirt is long and has a lot of fabric so its hard to find the perfect petticoat.

The jsk did not contain detachable bows (like most ops and jsks) but a small moon brooch that you could pin in the jsk to match the print and complete your coordination.

The fabric is cheap so dont excpect much from there.
The fabric is also thin so you can
wear the jsk on warm weather but better avoid it on cold days.

The colours and print from the other hand are vivid and beautiful. The combination of dark blue backround and a golden print gives a magical and dreamy aura.

Summarizing, the "Dark Blue Stars & Moons JSK" is a simple JSK comfortable enough to wear as an everyday dress but also has strong feuters for a lolita event. It does not have complicated details and the quality is avarage
I do recommend this dress if you are looking for something to feel preetty in a casual day or meet.

Thank you for reading, hope I was helpfull, if you have any  further questions on the subject please email me ^_^

Visual Kei

For the recent Japanese street fashion walk/meet Iv organized and took place in June I decided to dress in Visual kei. Usually I experiment with other styles in Japanese street fashion events rather than my two basics (Lolita, Visual kei ). But I hadn't the chance to dress in Visual kei for some time now and I couldnt handle it anymore, so instead of experimenting with another style like usuall I went for my beloved VK ;).

The right way to buy colour contact lenses

Circle and colour lenses are often used in fashion (especially in Japanese fashion sub styles  ).
So it's often for people to buy them through the Internet since they are hard to find elsewhere.
The thing is that many buy the lenses without paying much attention to some details with result the lense to be uncomfortable and to not look the way they expected.
This is a guide to show you the steps to decide which contact lenses to buy (from the internet or not ) in order to be comfortable and give the effect you want .

Comfort
of course the colour and the diameter are important, but whats their point if your lenses turn out too uncomfortable to wear. That's why I put the comfort of the lease above its effect. Here are the things you should look into, to buy the most comfortable lenses possible

Water content: The larger the amount of the water content the less dry your lenses will get. A normal lens has  50-55% water content, a colour contact lens is usually less. Generally try to avoid anything below 38% . Except if you don't mind your eyes feeling dehydrated after half an hour.

Base Curve:  Most people totally ignore this factor. The base curve has to do more or less with how effectively the lens fits your eye. Contact lens Base Curve refers to the inside curvature of a lens and should match your cornea to feel comfortable and allow for proper oxygen transmission.  Except just comfort the base curve influence the movement of the lens on the eye. If base curve does not fit your eye properly then you might move your eye without the lens  following. The larger the base curve the flatter the lens will appear. The smaller the base curve the more curved the lens will appear. The base curve can play an important role to your lens comfort so please ask a professional to tell you your eyes base curve before buying lenses

Diameter: Large diameters in lenses tend to be a bit less comfy but you get used to it soon. If you are new with putting on lenses in your eyes, its better not to take lenses with large diameter since they are harder to put on, start with the smaller diameter possible.

Color and Effect
Im finally going to discuss about how to get the color effect you want for your eyes.
It's impossible to consider every factor that affects the color and effect of the lens so I will try to cover as much as possible by making points.

  • Your eye colour will mix with your lensh colour: if your eyes are dark coloured the colour of your lensh will look darker when you wear them. If your eyes are light coloured the lensh will mix up with the darker details of your eyes or lensh and eye colour will be combined.
  • Small iris ring and details for a natural effect: If the iris ring for the lens is thin and the lens contains many details it won't look vibrant or impressive but more like a natural eye-color.
  • Large iris ring and flat colour for and vibrant effect: Usually when the colour of the lens is flat without many details it covers most of the original eye colour and it looks unnatural. The large dark iris ring crates contrast and makes the lens will look  even more vibrant.

                                                  Vibrant effect                                Natural effect

  • Many black details hide the lens colour: If you buy a light coloured lens that has many black or dark details its likely it will turn out looking almost dark rather than light when you wear it.(But its always up to your eye colour )
  • Don't trust the companies photos: Almost all the times the company of the lens will include a photo of a model wearing the lens in order to show how it looks when you wear it. But this photos are photoshopped to make the lens look more impressive and doesn't  represent it's actual effect.
  • Look at real-life photos before being: Most sites include photos of their buyers wearing the lens so checking their pictures is a good way to understand how the lens will look on you too, but be careful of the buyers eye colour and the lighting of the photo, look mostly of pictures with people who seem to have similar eye colour to yours, and be aware if they look directly into the light, looking directly makes the colour of the lens clear but not as it looks most of the time.
  • Read reviews: Reviews of buyers usually contain a detailed description of the pros and cons of the lens all of his color, effect and comfort.

P.S. : All the pictures used were from pinky paradise.

Mood for Visual Kei

Cute fashion is ok, but sometimes i'm into a more badass mood,
and I prefer turning into a darker and less "feminine " style.
So, here you have some casual visual kei
I was going for a casual walk not in an event or soewhere,
That is why I didn't want go overboard with my style like I usually do.
The make up, hair and clothes are simple but they follow Visual kei standards.

Crystals and Fshion

A small introduction on how gemstones
can make your fashion style unique

First of all we all agree that gem stones (or crystals )look amazing, they seem magic, like the transformation gems from almost any mahou shojo series.

So how can they be used in fashion ? well gemstones come in any colour, shape and kind. There is one for each and every outfit and style, their extraordinary look will immediately level up your coordination.

But before we get in the "main event" we shall define what are gemstones and what are this "kind" of gemstones I was referring to.

According to wikipedia: "A gemstone or gem (also called a fine gem, jewel, or a precious or semi-precious stone) is a piece of mineral crystal, which, in cut and polished form, is used to make jewellery or other adornments. However, certain rocks (such as lapis lazuli) or organic materials that are not minerals (such as amber or jet), are also used for jewellery, and are therefore often considered to be gemstones as well. "

More or less you have an idea what gemstones are, so for a first glance let's identify the most common ones and their use in fashion

Quartz

is the most common gem to find, it comes to a large variety of colours
You might be already familiar with the Purple Quartz or else Amethyst  probably the most well known of all.

Without doubt Amethyst has an amazing colour which can be used in any dark fashion.

A full black outfit will both increase         Amethysts and outfits effect and make it look really mysterious,
So why not trying wear an amethyst with your gothic wear

You could also wear it with a full purple outfit, but I wouldn't recommend it, since the effect Amethysts could give, would be decreased a lot. Better to wear it when you balance purple and Black, or more Black.

For those who aren't fans of dark fashion styles, there are light coloured Quartz like, the Rose quartz
its pink colour matches perfectly gold, so I would definately recommended for Hime/Princess looks.
Wear it in small pisces, like earings or rings they will give a playful elegancy to your outfit, you can also wear them as bracelets or necleses but better if they have a gold frame/elements or else they might look out of place.

You can also find quartz in colours, light-dark blue, green, yellow and more, so they can match any colourful fashion.

Obsidian

There are many kinds of obsidian the usual one is deep
black.

not 100% dark obsidian but the best example I could find

But Whats so unique about obsidian ?  Its hardcore effect. Obsidian is the semi precious stone you will see taking the most forms and shapes, (especially as a skull. )
Due to obsidian having the quite strong appearance and colour its better suited for more hardcore styles like metal style, punk or visual kei

Moon stone
Rainbow moonstone

Moonstone could be easely mistaken for quartz, even though their effect is quite different.
Moonstone has a dreamlike appearance, its gentle and promotes calmity, so they suit better to styles with simmilar characteristics, Cult Part Kei and why not in shironuri ? maybe a shironuri coord based on moonstone appearance effect.

I hope this entry on gems and fashion, helped and inspired you, please coment if you wish for a second part.
stay creative ~
